Amphitheater Project at Metzger Park

The Louisville Rotary Club will be celebrating our 100th anniversary in September 2025. Festivities will include a banquet at The Waters Edge.  Club members wish to commemorate this milestone event by completing the
amphitheater at Metzger Park.

Project History

In 1999, a group of citizens began the construction of an amphitheater and completed a stage with some amenities. It is located just down the hill from the west picnic
shelter, the stage is still there and has been used occasionally since then. The amphitheater will be close to the new Louisville Public Library.

Some of the improvements to complete the amphitheater include:
* Installing a 70’ portable cover over the stage.
* Building a 520 foot pathway from the new library now under construction. This will make the area accessible and will enable equipment to be transported easily.
* Upgrade the sound system, electric and lighting.
* Grading and landscaping the area around the stage.

Opportunities to Help

When completed, the amphitheater will be owned and operated by the City of Louisville and available for community functions.
Rotary is working to raise the estimated $255,000 cost and looking for individuals, companies and organizations to give for
this community project. Donations are tax-deductible and include several levels.  Any small gift will be accepted and appreciated. Rotarians are happy to make presentations to groups.

Bronze-$100 or more.
Silver-$500 or more.
Gold-$1,000 or more.
Platinum level for gifts of $5,000 or more.

Gifts of $1,000 or more will be engraved on a plaque installed in the facility.  The naming rights for the amphitheater are also available for purchase.
