Everyone is encouraged to give to the Rotary Foundation. Paul Harris Fellow Challenge- go on the 6650 website to donate. Also you can give points to others.

Speaker:    Kim Weiss District Governor 6650 Kim began in the financial Industry in 1984. She initially joined the East Canton Rotary in 2002. Mrs. Weiss presented pins and a leadership directory to both Louisville and East Canton Clubs. She gave a special thanks to Eva Roshong for her work as assistant. Also a special thanks went to Randy Starr and Linda Camp both presidents for the 2024-2025 year as she started her journey for District Governor in 2024-2025. Mrs. Weiss wished Jim Dutter well on his recovery. The magic for Rotary beach cleared back at its inception in 1905 from Paul Harris. It began as a desire for a lonely business man to make meaningful connections with other business men and to make an impact on the community. The magic continues in the Rotary Action Plan. It will continue for the next 5 years. Part of the plan is to increase impact and enhance membership recruitment and retainment. The District Governor hopes to start a podcast. While we have a newsletter, a podcast will be one more way to embrace the community. Opportunity to learn more about Rotary will be had in January via a virtual learning assembly. The past in person learning in Canal Fulton was a blast with lots of fun and learning. For the coming year the current leadership team wishes to focus on membership and retention. A focus on being a 100% club with all members making a donation to the Paul Harris Fellowship. A portion of the money is returned to the original club. Right now for every $20 you donate you could earn a Paul Harris Fellowship. There is a lot of impact for every dollar donated. In other matters the Rotary youth exchange has been dear to our hearts and Denny Valentine has been keeping every exchange student’s name since 1994. The Purple Pinkie Project was a huge success in that $7,000 was raised in the District and will be sent to the Foundation. A gentleman named Jeff Whaal, who is a Polio survivor has donated over $250, 000 over his lifetime to the Rotary. The past District Governor Rich Turpack started the Purple Pinkie Project locally. Elaine Bosnick, the former District Governor, is currently the Environmental Co Chair. Ryan Boyce is the District Governor Elect. It truly takes a village to get things done. Let’s Unite For Good! Mrs. Weiss went around the room and had every attendee state their name, how long they had been in the Rotary, and their favorite Rotary Project. Finally, the District Governor opened the meeting for questions: Will more funds be allocated to the Rotary Youth Exchange Program? She would like to see a portion of the proceeds from the Foundation Dinner go to the fund. Denny Valentine stated that he was president in 1988 and gave $1000 to eliminate Polio worldwide. The beautiful thing about Rotary is that they do what they say they will do. Here we are on the verge of eradicating Polio! In Conclusion Mrs Weiss informed the club that the District Conference will be held at the Great Trail Golf Course in Minerva on 5/16/2026
