Speaker: Luke Liptak Seminarian Luke is currently studying at John Carroll University and Borneo College for Seminary. He grew up in a Catholic Family . He was an alter server and had the thought of being a Priest when he was a child. Growing up many times his faith wasn’t his 1st priority. He spoke with a vocation counselor and realized it was always in his thoughts. He spoke with Father Sibula and that is how he made his decision. He enrolled into seminary to find out. Seminary is a place of discernment. They study, play, and do sports. The goal is to decide what God’s will is for your life. GenZ left religion behind. Currently it is not the case. There are a record number of adults worldwide searching for more. The church offers more than secular life with real relationships and a knowledge that you are loved by God. There is hope for the future of the church. St Louis parish joined with another parish and is now called St. Isadore. Change is not easy but with everyone working together it will be great. Ministry doesn't just happen, ministry is about showing up. Listen and give without any expected return. That sounds a lot like what the Rotary does. Jesus told us to serve without recognition. The best leaders don’t seek attention but put others 1st. Walk with people through every stage of life. Priesthood is about serving others like that. Success is measured by how we served others and how we loved them. Every act of service matters. A day in the life of seminary school is Wake at 6am. Morning Prayer 730 am, Mass at 8am, Breakfast 830 am, MWF college classes, 530pm evening prayer, 6pm Dinner. Luke is majoring in Philosophy with a minor in Communications. His favorite Saint is St John Paul II- he was shot and went to prison to meet the guy that shot him and grant him his forgiveness. There is a Servant of God on track to be Cannonized. Favorite verse is in Peter “I give you the keys you build the church” There are 8 seminarians in the Diocese. In the broader church around the world, there is a booming number of seminarians. At Easter there was a record number of Catholics. The youth are coming to the church to find fulfillment in Jesus Christ. Pope Leo has a great way of connecting with them
